Theresa's life nearly comes to an end when she is hit by a car. Her fiancé, Stuart, swears that he will never leave her side, but watching her fade away may be too much for him to handle. Theresa awakens months later to an empty seat next to her, and an empty spot in her heart. Will she be inspired to love again by the handsome doctor who treats her? Or by her best friends' loving marriage? Or by the hospital patient who is in the bed next to her? Will Theresa awaken to a life full of love or to a life without it?
The network hospital drama gets turned on its ear in the very sexy Awakening to Love, a nice addition to New Sensations’ Romanceseries featuring a group of excellent acting performances, a tight script and four very erotic sex scenes. These scenes are slow burning, loving, moodily lit and not for the average stroker who likes overly nasty sex. But for those who like romantic porn, director Eddie Powell gives viewers plenty to get off on.
Samantha Ryan and Dale DaBone are madly in love, but on the morning they get engaged, she gets hit by a car and ends up in a coma. Earnestly holding vigil at her bedside, DaBone eventually leaves, feeling she’s never coming out of it. But eight months later she awakes to a fiancé gone and must pick up the pieces and try for a new life.
All the soap operatic touches move the story along nicely, and each beautifully mounted sex scene makes sense in the context of the plot. Ryan’s opening scene is a thing of beauty as she and DaBone really make you believe they are a real couple. The beautiful Misty Stone, as Samantha’s best friend, performs one of her best sexual encounters with Tony DeSergio. Allie Haze and T.J. Cummings turn a supply closet at the hospital into a perfect location for sex. And Samantha’s culminating scene with Danny Mountain is an extremely erotic passion play.
Script, lighting, sets, camerawork and even the BTS … all first-rate work. I like the lush opening song, as it sounds like a mix between Sheryl Crow and Jewel. This highly recommendable series seems to be hitting its stride and this is perfect fare for women, couples or even men who don’t necessarily need to see a woman’s asshole sodomized to get their rocks off.
