A soap opera with better acting than the networks and beautiful, sensuous sex scenes, The Wedding Day, New Sensations’ second foray in its new Romance series, makes for a positive sign that the marketplace can accept more than the grind-it-out, misogynist porn that dominates so much of the business and that people can download so easily.
I like The Wedding Day because director Lee Roy Myers and screenwriter Crystal Dear remember that when inviting women to watch an adult movie, they shouldn’t forget that guys are watching also. The story involves Ashlynn Brooke’s wedding day and the complications that arise when her husband’s best man, who is also her ex-boyfriend, shows up to declare that he still loves her. Of course, that’s only one of four romantic entanglements that end up in five nicely mounted, slow and sumptuous hardcore scenes.
I swear that Ashlynn Brooke has never looked more radiant and her believable performance as the bride lends extra sexual urgency to her scene with Mikey Butders. Devon Lee, as the groom’s mother, finds solace when she fucks one his friends, Johnny Castle. And Tony DeSergio, excellent in his role as the best man, finds solace with Lyla Storm. Scenes with Victoria Lawson and Bill Bailey, and Brianna Blair and Ralph Long, infused with kissing and foreplay, will also satisfy the romance novel set.
Nice production values, sharp direction, clean videography and moody music help the pace of the movie, and a revealing BTS adds some punch in the extras.
