The guys behind cheeky adult blog Popporn.com bring their unique brand of daftness to the X-rated screen with The Guide to Making Fuck, and pull off a very fresh, if a little uneven, sex comedy that delivers most impressively on both the sex and the funny.
A sort of movie-within-a-movie, Popporn follows one of the site's main personalities, Spock Buckton, and editor Brian Bangs on a trip to Porn Valley after an inexplicable offer gets extended for Buckton to direct an adult project. Quoting "Johnny Kubrick" and "Stephan Spielberg" as his influences, Buckton dives Jacques Clouseau-like into the fray of attempting to "bring the strong fuck magic."
With expert lensman Mike Quasar — who makes some humorous appearances as himself throughout the movie — behind the camera for the actual sex scenes, the strong fuck magic indeed gets brought. A few highlights are the opener with Courtney Cummz and Marco Banderas, which naturally includes some anal; the very next scene with Lexi Belle and James Deen; and especially the closing three-way between Faye Reagan, Tori Black and Dane Cross.
As they have with their website, the Popporn guys demonstrate with their first movie a refreshing understanding of the inherent hilarity of porn without shunning its true purpose ... or here, compromising any heat.
