Paul Thomas directs Jenna Jameson in one of her best-ever feature performances. She plays a disturbed young woman in a seemingly stable lesbian relationship with girlfriend Stephanie Swift. But when she takes a job as a manuscript evaluator for literary agent Justin Sterling, her life takes a different turn.

Like Maggie Gyllenhaal in the 2002 indie hit Secretary, which this movie somewhat resembles, her suave boss turns her on to sadomasochism.

The twist, though, is that Jenna is a masochist to begin with, secretly burning herself with cigarettes before masturbating. We never know why she does this but it seems to have something to do with sexual guilt. When Sterling finds out, he tells her there are more pleasurable means of hurting yourself.

Gradually, Jenna transfers her feelings of co-dependency from her girlfriend to the alpha male. The love triangle at the movie’s core eventually turns tragic.

Jenna is vulnerable, pathetic, yet extremely sensual. She has several sex scenes — solo, girl-girl, boy-girl — and is totally involved in each. The best by far is an intense power exchange coupling with her possessive lesbian lover.

Essentially a three-character movie, the performances of Swift and Sterling are equal to Jenna’s. Justine Joli, as Sterling’s secretary, has a nice solo scene, and there’s a big kinky orgy that unfolds under the knowing eye of kink-master Ernest Greene, with Jenna looking great in fetish gear.

The movie was shot a few years back and some of the top stars of that era — Lauren Phoenix, Cytherea, Taylor Rain — also take part in the group sex scene.
