There is nothing like this: it's a breathtakingly original product from the feverishly creative mind of Laurent Sky. The images dazzle, the editing is rapid-fire, the pacing electric, and the sex very hard and very hot.

Sky packs a welter of content - five sex scenes plus sketches, blackout gags, social commentary, porn industry satire and seductive Cuban dance music - into less than an hour and a half. It's a potpourri of pleasure, equally satisfying for eyes, ears and loins.

Samantha Ryan, looking drop-dead gorgeous, emits airhead irony in her "Samantha Time" segments. In one to two-minute dramatic sketches - Randy Spears held hostage in a Bolivian coke factory; Annie Cruz and her boyfriend hassled by a traffic cop - Sky deftly sets up tense situations that abruptly defuse into product plugs.

His incessant branding of the Sky World label would be irritating if the director didn't turn the jokes on himself. "Sky World movies make no sense at all," says a puzzled Chinese trade official, in Mandarin.

In a tour de force sequence, Sky juxtaposes funky Cuba with hi-tech America. Smoldering Sandra Romain gets buttfucked by Tommy Gunn in a barbershop under a glowering mural of Che Guevara. Right next door, Courtney Simpson and Sascha screw in cool contempo luxe. The scenes unroll simultaneously - a tricky proposition, but Sky keeps both at boiling point.

As much as he flaunts his technical skill, he never slights the sex. Once it comes to "Fucking Time" all is brightly lit, well paced and passionately performed. And editing-wise, there is no one who gets more mileage from a facial cumshot.

Two scenes were shot in Prague. Czech performers Janet and Rudy have anal sex atop a huge Russian tank. It's presentational fucking, with terrific monster shots. There's more anal with Ramona on the kind of stylized set used in the first Sky World release, Raw Desire. Lesbian action with beautiful cover girl Lexi Marie comes last.

Sky's work is undeniably show-offy, but the plain fact is there's lots to show. Other directors may attempt this kind of epic razzle-dazzle, but compared to him, they're still playing in the sandbox.
