Those who think they've seen Inside Deep Throat in the theaters have another think coming: There's at least another half-movie on the DVD made up of 20 or so outtakes - and if that isn't enough, one of the two "commentary" tracks consists entirely of interviews about the movie that didn't make it into the final film. (The other track, of course, has the two directors talking about the making of the documentary.)
For those who don't know, Inside Deep Throat is a comprehensive look at the whole "Deep Throat" phenomenon: The genesis of the Gerard Damiano classic; the public's (and the authorities') reactions to it; insights from celebrities including Erica Jong, Gore Vidal and Dick Cavett; the controversy surrounding its star Linda Lovelace, and just about anything anyone would want to know about this seminal work.
