Jim Holliday accurately dubbed this 1974 movie "Norman Bates meets Ethan Frome." It's the classic Edith Wharton story about love on a New England farm, with a Psycho twist.
It's like a low-budget art film with sex, one of the post-Deep Throat movies that earned director Gerard Damiano a rep as an erotic auteur. Damiano's ambition exceeded his means (and perhaps his skill), but at least he thought outside the box.
The picture was shot on location some place where it snowed a lot. The only really hot scene is with Kim Pope and the youthful Eric Edwards, which starts in a winter landscape and winds up in a cozy bedroom.
