The story of the historical Salome is widely contested. The only item on which everyone seems to agree is that she was a follower of Jesus present at the crucifixion. Sometime in the middle ages, Salome was identified as the stepdaughter of King Herod who performed for him the dance of the seven veils and then asked for the head of John the Baptist. True or not, her legend has become synonymous with sex and treachery.

In Dreams of Salome, one woman becomes possessed with the libidinous spirit of Salome and is transformed into her sexual pawn. Half of the time is spent dancing, teasing and touching herself. The rest, after Salome comes to life, is spent with oils, pee, whips and chains.
