Three aggressive women interact with three somewhat bewildered men - fucking, cheating, changing partners - in this Paul Thomas film about life in the Los Angeles fast lane, another in his unofficial series of SoCal sex chronicles.
Kira Kener stars as Melora, a talent agent who pursues a self-love affair in her multi-mirrored bedroom. Lezley Zen plays an embittered shrew who can't keep a job or a man. Roxanne Hall is a fire and ice trophy wife who never lets a guy forget she's in charge.
All three give convincing performances, as do the men. Nick Manning is in his element as a blowhard developer, and Alec Metro excels as a wealthy but slightly seedy motivational guru. Dale Dabone, as a put-upon working stiff, finally finds peace with a passive female (Sharon Wild).
As directed by Thomas, from a sharp, zinger-stuffed script by Dean Nash, these people come across as all too real.
Sex scenes are plentiful but short - like they were back in the day of feature porn movies, which this one recalls. Kira and Roxanne do anal, briefly. In an odd but effective scene, Kira has sex with her mirror image/alter ego, played by Reina Leone.
The ending is too abrupt, but it might signal a forthcoming sequel. This would make a good soap series, too.
