This educational effort lays out the basics of human sexuality and guides the spectator through a series of lectures and exercises. In fact, it should be required viewing - for anyone under the age of 10, in West Virginia, perhaps.

EGP may prove too simplistic for the average couple who wish to broaden their horizons in the boudoir. What average person on the planet isn't aware that thanks to the marvels of modern technology, "sexually explicit materials are now available for adults to view in privacy?" Do we really need Ph.D.-wielding commentators spouting dictionary definitions of oral sex? While the tone of the vid is sincere (alas, sometimes to a fault), hostess Jane Monreal's reading might smack of condescension to an audience who've graduated beyond playing doctor.

The history of sexual activity is well covered (with historical visuals provided by the Kinsey Institute) in all its various incarnations. That subject in itself deserves a whole shelf-full of DVDs, but at least the viewer gets a gander at old-time pornography. The actual sex demonstrations (performed by a handful of pros and randy amateurs) are captured with tasteful lighting and camera moves far more expert than a typical motel encounter. Tame and wholly inoffensive by adult entertainment standards, it gets the job done.

Eventually, Monreal suggests that there are alternatives to straight fucking and sucking, such as toy play, anal sex and domination/submission games. A fair amount of time is devoted to exploring these options, including the use of code words for safe and happy endings. (Frankly, we just tend to shout, "Get that goddamned candelabra out of my ass!" but to each his own).

Included on the extras is a cute behind the scenes section, which, if nothing else, provides a good laugh by revealing the presence of a teleprompter - which, on a real porn set would be about as appropriate as a visit by the Meese Commission.
