Despite a solid cast, weak camerawork and lighting suck most of the energy out of The Girl Next Door. The action itself is uninspired, with lingering foreplay leading to mediocre sex with far too much screen time devoted to close-ups of the genitals, something that is especially curious since everything else about the title screams "couples."
