There was a time, not all that long ago, when Hustler titles were highly anticipated; unfortunately, more often than not, titles like Campus Confessions are a predictable mix of average, mostly unknown porno chicks; flat videography; average lighting; lame music; and action as predictable as it is mediocre.
Campus Confessions 8 stands as a testament to all of those elements. Even the fabulously sexy Katsumi, who opens the title, comes off as little more than the typical porn babe. And it only goes downhill from there.
A lesbo scene set on an airplane with a couple unidentified girls is incredibly dull. The NPR-ish guitar track only rubs it in, tauntingly, as the scene drags along.
Things never recover. Cynthia Pendragon. Lyla Lei does anal. Mallory Marx is hot; her scene is not. Host Selena Silver gets naked and teases, but doesn't get involved in any action. Last, and possibly least, the talent could be identified better. Some of the girls' names aren't even spelled correctly, and the guys who perform are listed right along with the extras in the closing credits. While this may be the norm in the business, some would think Hustler would have a better grasp on the details.
While CC8 isn't below average when considering everything that clogs shelves these days, it does not live up to the Hustler name. If nothing else, please change the music. It was bad enough in 1986. It has not improved with time.
