Two recent hits from VCA come to DVD: one a porn retelling of Macbeth, the other, as co-star Tina Tyler describes it, "a story of couples in transition." We'll leave it to the viewer to guess which is which (quick hint: in one feature, Mike Horner wears a kilt).

While both transfers are superb, with rich, true colors and sharp details. Bliss' superior sound edges out In The Flesh for top honors (although both discs are in two-channel Dolby digital). Bliss alsohas a dazzling array of extras, including true multiple angles during most of the sex scenes (this is used to particularly good effect during the Tina Tyler/Juli Ashton scene, when each angle features a different girl licking pussy), a behind-the-scenes documentary, cast bios that let viewers jump right to a scene featuring that star, tons of chapter stops, and audio commentary with director Antonio Passolini, Ashton, and Tyler. If the Criterion Collection did adult DVDs, fifes might be the result. In fact, if there's a complaint about this disc, it's that the symbol which tells the viewer another angle is available is very distracting. The gray movie camera that appears lower-right-screen is more than enough.

In The Flesh has its share of extras as well, including an interview with star Kylie Ireland; however, as a total package. Bliss is a strong contender for both Best DVD and Best Extras.
