While odds are good that there isn't a waiting list for these titles at your store, neither feature is actually embarrassing (the same can't be said for many DVD releases this month). Technically, these discs are so different it seems like they came from different companies.
The Assassins disc has a sharp, bright transfer that suffers only slightly from pixelation, and some odd edge-dithering. Flashback is awash in constant (mild) pixelation, color bleed and moire. Assassins also has several bonus mini-scenes included, while Flashback has only a live-play stills gallery.
The appearance of the Dolby Digital bumper at the opening of Flashback was certainly a surprise. Let's jus hope Horizon has actually licensed the trademark from Dolby labs.
