There are adult "classics" that actually kinda suck (Debbie Does Dallas, Deep Throat), and "classics" that are genuine classics (Opening of Misty Beethoven, Justine). Barbara Broadcast's definitely in the latter category. In fact, this is arguably Radley Metzger's (directing under his Henry Paris nom) best film, and VCA has done a stunning job with it. Nowhere has BB everlooked this good, not on tape or projected from a crappy 16mm print. This transfer has crisp color tones and sharp detail. It also has commentary by Jamie Gillis (who appears only in footage originally shot for Misty Beethoven) and Gloria Leonard (who isn't in the film at all) that in and of itself is worth the price of the DVD, with neither industry vet pulling any punches. Pre-nom for Best Classic DVD.

As a nearly-equal modern day classic, Veronica Hart's Ginger Lynn vehicle White Lightning does more with the DVD format than any adult video yet released. There are lots of great included extras, like true-perspective multiple angles, an extremely frank interview with Lynn and a more politic audio track by Hart. The disc also gives viewers the option of choosing to watch the movie as interwoven vignettes (its original format), or as a linear story, an option that is obviously available only on DVD. Additionally, viewers can choose to jump into the action via an interactive scene with Lynn and Michael J. Cox, something that hasn't been done in a feature. Pre-nom for Best Overall DVD.
