Wow.
VCA Interactive has gone the extra mile and then some for the DVD release of DMJ6 (Editor's Choice, June '99). High bit rates, savvy MPEG-2 encoding, and quality duplication result in a picture that's clear and sharp, with vibrant, noise-free colors and deep, rich blacks. The Dolby Surround soundtrack, while not up to mainstream standards, is a big step up from the usual mono or stereo tracks found on most adult releases.
As with all VCA releases, the disc features a series of well-designed menus, a decent number of chapter stops, and all-region payability. There's also an alternate soundtrack with Stacy Valentine and Tina Tyler relating their experiences during the making of the video, as well as voicing their reactions to seeing the finished product for the first time; a gallery of production stills presented in slideshow format; and two brief interviews (with concurrent slideshows), one with Valentine, the other with Vicca and Nikita. Bonus footage includes one deleted scene from DMJ6, as well as three scenes from previous volumes in the series. There's even a "making of" featurette, and scene-specific commentary by writer/director Antonio Passolini.
All of this comes on a single-sided, dual-layered DVD-9, handsomely packaged in a durable keep case with a sexy "soft" cover, suitable for display almost anywhere in the adult section of your store.
Stock in depth.
