When viewed in retrospect, Michael Ninn's seminal Sex stands out as his strongest work to date. While the music seems dated, and the effects sequences pale compared to what we expect from Ninn now, Sex has a raw, visceral quality that has been noticeably lacking in his later efforts. Watched back-to-back, Sex 2 is strikingly redundant — not surprising since at least half of Sex 2 is simply lifted footage from the original.

Still, as a package this is an excellent adult DVD, with exquisite reproduction, sharp color, and crisp sound. The extras are minimal, but interesting. Particularly noteworthy is an interview with the seldom heard and never seen Ninn that offers some enlightenment into his personal sensibility.
