The Sam Spade parody Bite the Big Apple (reviewed April '98) boasts a witty (if derivative) script and excellent production values; if the performances and editing had been half as tight as they are in the trailer (also included), this one might have been an Editor's Choice. Set in 1969, Hot Buttered Blues (reviewed December '97) stars Metro contract players Misty Rain and Julian in a light and sexy celebration of Free Love, mysticism, and of course, da blooz (as performed by guest star Louisiana Guitar Red). There's some good sex here as well, including b/g, group scenes, and anal.

Video on both discs is outstanding, with sharp detail, vibrant color, and very little in the way of pix-elation or noise. Though the Dolby surround stereo reveals some of the flaws on the original soundtracks, audio is, overall, quite good.

Notable extras on both include chapter stops, photo galleries, and quickie bios of the lead performers. All-region coding permits worldwide player compatibility; Macrovision-encoded to prevent piracy.
