Some slick CGI opens Lust in Space, with several starfighters battling to the death in a stunning 3D sequence. The survivor lands at the supposedly deserted Outpost 69, where, it's rumored, a few lonely (and horny) female inhabitants may remain. Eager to see what further intrigue awaits us, we exit the cool cockpit of our fighter, hop into the photo-realistic landing bay, and walk straight into... yet another take on the "find-the-key/click-on-the-hot-button-for-sex" scenarios that we've seen so many times before in adult video-gaming.

Pleasure Pit doesn't have any opening animation, but both games are very similar. In brief: Players make their way through the space station/mall, stopping to watch various sex clips along the way. Some clips can only be accessed with gifts/pass keys which are located throughout the station/mall; both discs also include hints for players who are either in a hurry or are having a difficult time.

To be fair, both discs include some award-winning sex scenes from other VCA productions; and several additional video clips, some of them shot specifically for the games, are thrown in for good measure (Lust in Space seems to have the lion's share of original sexual content). The sound is in stereo, and, as mentioned earlier, the 3D environments certainly do look good. We don't have a DVD-ROM drive (yet) at the offices, but "installation" in a DVD player is as simple as putting the disc in the tray and pressing "play." Menus, hot buttons, video and animation all worked flawlessly.

But frankly, with the high-quality of VCA's movies on DVD, and the potential offered by DVD-ROM, we just expected a little more.

Bottom line: If your customers like similar adult games on CD-ROM, then there's no reason they won't like these. For the time being, anyway.
