Edge Interactive doesn't release many CD-ROMs - Eric Kroll Interactive, from 1996, was the last we reviewed - but what they do release is Art.

Private Parts In Public Places is the work of Welsh photographer Kim Fielding, who spent many months roaming around New York City, capturing its people and places on film. Now, Edge has taken more than 2000 of his images and arranged them into a smorgasbord of bodies and buildings, with categories such as "Proclivities," "Private Parts," "Girls," "Public Parts," "Boys," "Private Places," and more. Within the categories, it's just a matter of clicking on the large "thumbnail" images to get to the larger version, plus a description of the scene, who's in it, where it was taken and other salient info. You can also search for key words, people's names, locations -- even the exposure numbers for the photo!

While there's not a great deal of nudity, what's there is often highly erotic, and fetishists can find shots of pierced people, transvestites, foot worshippers and more. A pleasant musical background accompanies your browsing.

This is just the sort of disk you can point to with pride and say, "I stock culture!"
