While this video got a AAA 1/2 rating when it was originally reviewed in the Jan. '97 issue, in retrospect that rating seems like a gift. It was a crappy video then, and it's a crappy video today. By and large, the quality of the DVD itself isn't much better. As long as the picture's bright, the disc looks great. The darker footage, however, looks like it was shot on a Playskool Pixelvision camera. Apparently Vivid is no longer devoting the attention to their MPEG-2 compression that they once did, and Stardust provesit.
