First the good news is: unlike other X-rated films with "borrowed" titles, Young Doctors in Lust is the adult counterpart to Young Doctors In Love. The bad news is: just as "Love" was a flawed mainstream comedy with a good premise, "Lust" is a flawed adult film with a good premise.

The story concerns an exclusive and undoubtedly expensive sex therapy clinic for women only. As the clinic's bearded director says, "We cure them, and we have fun curing them."

It definitely is not a place that has to worry about being sued for malpractice. The clinic has more than enough well-trained doctors and one very talented nurse, who together deal with the problems of three sexually frustrated women. In rapid, and sometimes confusing, succession, we cut back and forth to each woman's treatment.

In one case, normal intercourse is enough to give a jaded married woman her first climax (say, why didn't her husband think of that?) However, when her doctors abruptly leave her high but not dry, she continues the therapy herself with the help of some special instrument left behind.

Next, the nurse introduces a young girl to the pleasures of lesbian love while prepping her for her session. Meanwhile, another patient is dressing for dinner, but a nurse and doctor come in with a different sort of meal in mind. What develops is a veritable smorgasbord of a threesome, although at times the staff gets too wrapped up in their work and leave the patients panting and watching, like the rest of us.

At this point you may well be saying, "It sounds good so far, so where are the flaws you mentioned?" Well, some of the acting is wooden by any standards. Only Sharon Kane, Chris Cassidy and John Leslie put any sort of motivation behind their dialogue and moves. The film also appears to have been made on a threadbare budget, with sets consisting of three rooms, a shed, and a lot of outdoor footage (under the guise of a field trip).

These may, or course, be minor quibbles, as sex is what this film deals with and sex is what it delivers. We see endless combinations between the patients and staff (and occasionally between the patients), interracial sex, Greek love, masturbation, and a plethora of positions that would make a chiropractor cringe. As the clinic director boasts, "We're specialists at this clinic, and we haven't failed yet."

By adult film standards, however, Young Doctors in Lust is a throwback to a more primitive style of filmmaking, yet this type of audience will thrill to the varied sex it has to offer.
