Imagine, if you will, a screwball comedy version of Casablanca with graphic sex, directed in "Robert Altman" style (with the cast of characters weaving in and out of the storyline, dropping ad libs etc.). Whether or not this is your kind of film, only you can tell. I loved it!

Ron Jeremy plays Rick Simson, owner/host/standup comic of the Blue Fox café in Mexico. In the prologue, we arrive at the height of the Fox's popularity. It's a sleazy but festive place where the main draw is cheap booze and live sex acts. Rick is up to his neck in problems: the local cop-on-the-take is demanding too much money, and a new super highway being constructed nearby will re-route all traffic away from the Blue Fox. Fade out…

…To present day: a perpetual off-season for the once-bustling bristo. Rick tends bar to no one in particular, sampling much of the whiskey himself. While plotting to blow up the highway bridge and return the clientele to his spot, he manages to seduce a lost motorist, the local hooker, and an old girlfriend, respectively. Just when you think the movie is going to center entirely around Rick's sex life, up pops some surprise guest stars to liven up the act.

The only liability of the Blue Fox is that out of seven of the erotic encounters, Jeremy performs in three of them. Despite his special endowment, Ron is hardly the romantic lead type. Both Pamela Mann and Desiree Lane are attractive and adequate performers, but they are merely window dressing when Jeremy is on. Due to the special nature of this film, more time is devoted to the comedy than the sex. It's just as well. This is Jeremy's movie and he knows it, playing it out for all it's worth.

Writer John Finegold has produced something of a marvel here: an adult film that bears repeated viewing. The sex scenes are not merely throwaways, but direct results of the story. Paced well by director Damon (Titillation) Christian, the erotic content is brief but very effective. Simply put, Eat At The Blue Fox is one of the most enjoyable and sophisticated adult comedies around. Everybody goes to Rick's. So should you.
