Alexandra is a movie with pretensions of mystery, decadence, and style that sometimes work and where the bad guys get their come-uppance and the good guys triumph.
The story is told in the form of reminiscences between Alexandra (Joanna Storm) and her ex-husband. It is a tale of three couples, and the women's secret lives. Alexandra, whom we don't see, has been the lover of all the husbands at one time or another. She intends to take one of them away with her by telling all of them horrible secrets about their wives.
One woman has been the lover of six men in a porn film. Another is sleeping with her boss and holding out on her rugged, writer-husband. The third, engaged to a millionaire, is making it with his partner. Alexandra invites everyone to a party, where, as she lets the women know, she intends to spill the beans.
The sex in this film ranges from uninhibited to uninspiring. There is a great scene where the woman who is sleeping with her boss forgets her anniversary and makes it up to her husband. Great lighting, great music, and great head make this a memorable scene. Also, when the boss's secretary joins the action in a different encounter with a spikey, scary-looking toy, my interest really perked up.
Alexandra has its moments. If only the film has sustained them, it would've been a great one.
