To live in the sexual fast lane and die for your immorality. Is it worth living a life of wild and kinky sex, only to die in Agatha Christie style on a warm afternoon in a spooky mansion? That's what happens to the characters in Ten Little Maidens, a virtual who's who of the porn world, brought together by an insane moralist for one final orgy on their way to the graveyard.

In an homage to Ms. Christie's witty murder mysteries, Ten Little Maidens develops first as an outrageous sexual spoof, with the mystery portions filling out the second half of the film. And it works on almost every level.

First the sex – this movie's major selling point. Director John Seeman's obsession with food becomes evident in the wildest, aphrodisiac-powered feast this side of Tom Jones. Ten of adult video's all-stars round up fowl, fruit, jello and creamy dressing, while engaging in an amazing food /n sex orgy behind description. Later, Eric Edwards, Amber Lynn and Janey Robbins mix bananas and whipped cream with their three-way. In these two scenes, everything that you can't imagine happening, happens.

A couple of beautifully erotic scenes with Ginger Lynn and Harry Reems (one in a sauna) highlight Ten Little Maidens, as does segments with Ginger and Janey Robbins in the shower and vets Eric Edwards and Lisa DeLeeuw. Also, Jamie Gillis puts it to a chicken in the kitchen and Robbins and Nina Hartley leather-and-chain each other up.

The sex scenes in Ten Little Maidens are so high-powered, that the mystery takes a back seat and is never fully developed. However, the film styles used make for interesting viewing, as erratic jump cuts and stop-and-go slow motion photography assault the eyes and force the viewer to pay close attention. Combined with original cartoon music and moodier sounds for the murder scenes, Ten Little Maidens plays like the high-budgeted technically superior adult film that its makers intended. It's so good to see a quality adult film that really works well, simply because the acting, photography and set design are as good as in a major Hollywood production.
