Let’s break the review of Black Angels up into several categories:
The Plot: Ron Jeremy runs a house for aspiring dancers, models and actresses called Lucky Leonard’s. Needless to say, eh loves to ravage his tenants. Most the women who frequent this house are black; but they’re not lucky.
The Sex: At best, lifeless. After seeing Black Throat and Let Me Tell Ya’Bout Black Chicks, two other new, interracial features from VCA, I wonder why they even bothered to put this one out. Most of the sex is very boring as this black female cast looks like they’d rather be watching television.
The Sound: Poor at times, almost inaudible. Some scenes feature sound that might have been recorded in a sewer.
The Cast: Really unattractive ladies who are not al all hot.
The Camerawork: They used two video cameras when shooting Black Throat. One shoots normally, while the other shoots everything in green. Everytime there’s an edit to a different camera angle, you’ll want to jump up and change the tint on your television. Don’t bother. Also, at times the picture is fuzzy.
The Lighting: If you don’t mind darkness, the first two sex scenes are worth a look. Try to make believe that there really aren’t overwhelming shadows. Relax, your picture tube is not fading.
Synopsis: Just because Black Angeles features an interracial cast, don’t rent this one. There's plenty better black and white features to choose from. Need I say more?
