Throughout my 38 years of living on this planet, I've heard of a "Mile-High club," where strangers meet in an airplane, 30,000 feet off the ground, and make love in the bathroom. I've seen general release and adult films where this exciting event took place. So when I'm flying alone for business reasons, I don't watch movies and I don't rent those dinky little earphones so that I can hear old Mitch Miller tunes. I wait for that wonderful blonde bombshell to ask me if I'd like to join the "Mile-High Club" with her.
Needless to say, it never happens. But in Lay Over, that's all that happens. It's a day in the life of a horny airline crew and their hornier passengers – Paul Thomas, the lingerie salesman; Susan Hart, the sexy prostitute; Aphrodite and Dino Alexander, the honeymooners; Mark Wallace, the terrorist with a bomb on the plane, etc.
Several terrific, steamy scenes are memorable, including Paul Thomas taking on both blonde newcomer April Maye and Susan Hart in an airline sear, Ali Moore finishing off Alan Royce in bed, Dan Fisher and Sandy Reed in the bathroom and Marc Wallace and Susan Hart, among others.
The film moves along at a crisp pace, with nice editing, an airplane that looks authentic and exterior shots taken at Los Angeles airport. Ali Moore and newcomer Aphrodite look stunning, both in and out of uniform. All in all, Lay Over will make you want to join that same elusive club that I do.
(Note: look for AVN's Paul Fishbein in a cameo role as a drunk on the plane. Suffice it to say that he's a better editor than actor.)
