OK, I’ll admit it.  I’d be hard-pressed to give anything with Sharon Mitchell a bad write-up.  The lady has style, wit, and an aggressive sense of self that is uniquely her own.  She uses her body to her best advantage, and never appears to be acting.  Jewel Of The Night does not only showcase Mitchell’s talents, it features a fine cast, with excellent performances from Gina Carrera, Nick Random and the rest.

Jewel is the story of two women, (Mitchell and Carrera) who run “Video Ecstasy,” a unique service that has Mitchell hypnotizing their clients, who then live out their fantasies with the help of an image on a video monitor.  But are the fantasies real, or only in their minds?  Hard to tell, but the participants have so much fun, they don’t care!  From the opening sequence, we are subjected to some of the hottest, most realistic and erotic sex to hit video in recent months.  Carrera starts us out by going for her “morning orgasm” while in the shower.  This is one of the best masturbatory scenes I’ve seen – just a girl and her hand in a shower.  It looks real… something rare in the world of porn. Jewel Of The Night is filled with realistic looking sex that’s unusual in a film dealing with fantasy, but the realism of the sex is Jewel’s true appeal.  Most of us have fairly ordinary fantasies rather than full-blown extravaganzas, and that’s what we see here.  Truly a rare treat.

Technically, the video is not perfect.  At times, the lighting is too harsh and the dull camerawork puts our imaginations in action.  But the background music enhances the overall atmosphere.  And it is truly the performances which elevate this video to a level above the rest.  Carrera and Mitchell alone (and with each other) are worth the price of admission.  But the two, combined with the stellar performance of Nick Random in a three-way, make this video much better than many of the so-called “Jewels” out there.
