Remember those great adult films of the 60's like Daughters Of The Sun and Naked Venus? Remember the costuming— a volleyball, a net, a towel and a bottle of suntan lotion?

Well, that's pretty much what you're going to get in this tape save for the ball and the net. But if 90 minutes of naked females parading their skimpy tan lines is just compensation for the lack of athletic equipment, then the tradeoff shouldn't leave you with too much emotional upheaval.

Every year Dale Zunz, a former man of the cloth no less, and fanny fetishist extraordinaire, makes his annual trek to photograph naked girls competing in a variety of body beautiful contests. Zunz, who shoots the proceedings on film, unfortunately manages to hang on to an inescapable style that renders the footage indistinguishable from contests past. 1 guess it's a matter of you see one fanny, you see them all.

But let's not set off on the wrong foot here. I love the idea behind the tapes. The girls (most of them strippers and entertainers from Midwestern nitespots) are invariably blonde and gorgeous with great tans and white backsides. And we certainly get enough documented footage of their cheek movements as they strut from one location to another. After awhile it's s.o.s., and we get the feeling that different heads are being screwed on to the same butt.

Zunz employs a lot of slo-mo. A lot. And using film, though great for imparting a remoteness and a feeling of voyeurism, sometimes torpedoes continuity (reload time) when we're watching a contestant's striptease number. Sometimes we get the feeling we've missed something like in adult video when a couple pass from handshake to bedshake minus any residual foreplay.

Still, these tapes are a spirited exercise in nudity. A homage to one of nature's great assets, and a welcome departure from video.
