My reactions to Thunderstorm are mixed. The film tells the “story” of shy schoolteacher Terry (Charlie Latour) who “goes on a sexual rampage,” to quote the promo copy. Egged on by her fellow schoolmate (Jeanna Fine), Terry experiences, in a single evening it seems, the joys of sex in a multitude of steamy variations and encounters. Touted as a variation of Looking for Mr. Goodbar, Thunderstorm certainly could benefit from better acting.
However, the sex scenes make up for any shortcomings. The men, while lacking movie star good-looks, are endowed and enthusiastic. And the women are all eager to please and be pleased. Who cares if two are 10 pounds too fleshy (being a gentleman, I won’t name names) and some do not have the glamorous dreamgirl looks of Seka or Ginger or Amber. Actually, this film arouses the viewer because the actors and actresses look like real people, not plastic surgery models. Thunderstorm is steamy when it needs to be, but does show some weakness in dialogue and editing. I’ll recommend it for viewers who like hardcore action.
