"When the moon hits your eye like a fat lady's thigh, that's..." well, never mind what that is! What Moonglow is, is a mostly on-target parody of that recent Cher film, a saucy look at love and sex, Italian-American style that's like a well-made spaghetti dinner. Star/co-director Sharon Mitchell is "Cherri" (get it?), whose impending marriage to well-meaning-but-not-necessarily-exciting-in-bed Don Fernando gets sidetracked when she meets Richard Gilmore, Fernando's brother. Despite his crippled hand (and you can guess which finger sticks up in this version), she succumbs to his animal passions... and at the engagement party for her and Fernando, yet!

Just as I wasn't carried away by the enthusiasm for Moonstruck, I had some problems with Moonglow. Everyone seems to concentrating a bit too hard on their Pacino-styled accents, and a sauna session between lovers Faith turner and Raven Richards seems about five minutes too long. the cast overall, however, are into their scenes with gusto, and when Mitchell and Gilmore finally get together it's as good a final scene as in any feature this years.

There's a pleasant enough glow from this "moon" to make it a fine couples tape and while it may not be full, it's certainly a bright three-quarter effort that'll have a viewer saying, "now that's Italian!"
