"Hello, I'm Traci Lords. Let's work out together." Well, that was the best offer I'd had in quite a while, and it made me curious enough to see what the infamous Ms. Lords was up to these days. Hot on the heels of her legit film debut in the sci-fi quickie Not of This Earth, Warm Up With Traci Lords is the latest addition to the burgeoning celebrity exercise video genre, and as your hostess, Traci says this workout will lead to a "healthier, happier, sexier you."
It's a little tough to know who this tape was produced for. I can't imagine that there's a sizable crossover audience between adult films and fitness tapes (unless the idea is that wives will follow the routines while husbands lie on the sofa and watch along), and while it's obvious from her scanty workout clothes that Mr. Lords is in good physical shape, she is not a "name" to that Fonda-following segment of the population. The routines themselves? A series of non-impact moves that are on par with most of the tapes currently available. Lords does not speak during the workout, leaves all the instructions to a quickly-tiresome voice rap voice heard over the music. Production values are good, and Tracy looks fine, but viewers looking for a girl-watching tape should stick to the Aerobicize line.
