Reviews

Voodoo Lust has a storyline that spreads over a 50-year period and tells of a grand high priestess of voodoo, Dutchess Grande (Nina DePonca), whose powers are invoked for love, passion, enslavement, and revenge.

Jon Martin is a current day archeologist whose father first came under the spell of Grande in Haiti and who himself is likewise cast under the power extended through the witchy woman's granddaughter, Duchess Petere (DePonca in a dual role). Martin covets his student assistant Meg (Rachel Ryan) and invokes voodoo powers to have her even though he's forewarned it can only be for one night. Meg is so enraptured by voodoo tales related in Martin Sr.'s journal that she, too, makes use of the power to gain her own edge with lover, Peter North.

The interrelationships are intricate, fascinating and riveting. Nina DePonca certainly enjoys her best ever adult video role. She's flame, desire and malevolence all rolled beautifully into one. An excellent casting stroke. Besides, the post production magic didn't hurt either to add more power to and centralize her role.

The sex scenes are practically atmospheric, ceremonial tone poems with nifty invocations of eeriness from the better days of TV's Dark Shadows. Subtle, fluid erotica and excellent videography marks this as one of the best shot-on-video features every to come out of the adult industry. Not to be missed; must be stocked.
