Deep Throat may have reached "classic" status, but as any hardcore buff can tell you, the esteem is warranted more from a landmark historical perspective than any redeeming erotic content. Deep Throat II was a better movie. So, with great anticipation, we come to the third installment in the series, the first shot-on-video, and it's a good sex. Deep Throat III is an amusing, erotic and serviceable diversion —but hardly a classic.

The main drawback, unfortunately, is the star, Aja. Her acting lacks passion and precision here, although it's needed. However, when she does manage to keep her mouth shut (perhaps full is a better adjective) her talents are at least equal to those of Linda Lovelace.

Aja plays Laura, a sweet young thing still very new to the wide world of men and their desires. She loves to experiment with different guys, but her most "steady" fellow, Paul (Peter North) really loves her and wants exclusive rights. Laura experiences frustration from this pressure, as well as an unusual medical odity... the now-famous clitoris-in-the-throat syndrome, which gives her oral orgasm.

Laura's Aunt Penny (Amanda Tyler) arrives on the scene just in time to lend some experienced female advice, just being divorced and ready to attack the singles scene again. Both gals make the most of it with a plethora of nameless studs, but Penny complicates matters by taking advantage of a very drunk Paul.

Deep Throat III is dialog heavy but plot-thin. Most of the lines become simply small talk and chatter. To pad it out a bit, there's plenty of loose sex at the clinic where Laura's doctor er, "practices." Doc, his nurse (Tracey Adams) and a nymphomaniac (Megan Leigh) all set acquainted in the usual fashion.

If fans set their sights within a credible range of anticipation, they'll enjoy Deep Throat III. It should be a huge hit, with its title, nice box cover, eroticism and advance advertising.
