It was approximately one year ago that this reviewer had the pleasure of watching Sexually Altered States, a very funny and erotic film about the trials of people who cannot control their carnal appetites. Well, here it is 12 months later, and a similarly-themed video, Sexaholics, is on the review block. The difference is not unlike the difference between Dom Perignon and Boone's Farm Apple Wine.

Set at a coed weekend retreat for "sexaholics" (which must be like holding an A.A. meeting inside a liquor store), the film details the recalcitrant reprobates' recidivism behind the back of the female counselor (Janette Littledove) who is trying to cure the group. Like the people she treats the therapist finds herself, likewise, affected and confesses that she, too, is "addicted to love," which leads to a lackluster group sequence.

"Sexaholism" (which, by the way, in real life goes under the clinical terms of nymphomania and satyrism) has been the plot key for literally hundreds of adult movies, and nothing new is done with it here, although Eric Edwards and Trinity Loren in particular stand out among the cast. These people seem no more horny than the average characters in a hardcore feature, and nothing new is shown in their search for sexual satiation. The uninspired feature is definitely made for "sexaholics" only.
