Someday when all the officious jerks, who think they alone know what's best for everyone else to watch on TV, are recognized for the fools they are and summarily dismissed to harmless employment, we'll have a channel like WSEX Channel 69 on our cable TV. Rather than explore all the wonderful programming options such a station could offer, Hot Flashes instead concentrates on the nightly newscast. Hosted by three lovely (and quite cooperative) newswomen, the broadcast features numerous segments where the journalists really "apply" themselves to their assignments.
This film, shot a couple of years back, answers a lot of questions about what goes on under those anchor desks and what the audience at home is doing during the show. For example, did you ever wonder what that luscious blonde weathergirl was doing to occupy her time until it's her turn to report the weather? Wonder no more! She's up on the scaffolding helping the cameraman operate his equipment. And what of the opinions of the man in the street? Will, these journalists seem to be experts at getting him to open up and let it all hang out (and up).
Beside being entertaining Hot Flashes shows that reporters need love too. Now we can only surmise what Dan Rathers was doing when he walked off the air for seven minutes a while ago! Perhaps anticipating George Bush.
