One of the more ambitious adult video undertakings, Killer is a bold, if not slightly uneven attempt at avant garde eroticism. Movie buffs will recognize it immediately as a knockoff of the Bogie/Bacall thriller, Dark Passages. It makes good use of its San Francisco locale, and lousy use of a light meter in some scenes as it goes for the "video noir" look but winds up casting its characters in impenetrable depths of gloom. Nevertheless, Killer is impacted with great colorful San Francisco-type characters. and tremendously decent acting performances form Tracey Adams, and, of all people, Don Fernando, adult vid's resident pizzaman, and "I'll do her if no one else wants to" stud.
Fernando plays Vic Moro, the unfaithful husband/vicious killer on the lam from the cops. Fernando really gets to act for a change, even though he comes off a little bit as a priss with plastic surgery. But this doesn't seem to hamper his ability to put the bone to his leading ladies. Everywhere his character-on-the-run goes, he gets a piece of tail as a souvenir. He meets Jennifer Stewart (totally different-looking from her Vivid appearances) on a ferry and winds up riding her butt in a broom closet. Lynn Francis, who appears in about one adult feature every 2.3 years these days, gives Don a cameo pipe cleaning in a hot toilet sequence. Shades of Pachard.
Tracey Adams turns in a marvelous stint as Dolly Turner, a hot but wifty babe who's committed to helping Fernando. Tracey's tits still look great and she can still do the old suckaroonie with the best of them. Give everyone involved major points for this effort. Even though it bogs down in spots, Killer is a very refreshing change from the same old boring couch potato vids we see every month.
