While a story about TV stars talking to home viewers and coming out of the set won’t win any points for originality, it is through the efforts of its stars that Coming Alive comes close to living up to its title. Put-upon and horny hausfrau Dana Lynn thinks she’s coming unglued when aerobics show hostess Nikki Randall begins teaching her some moves that Jane Fonda never imagined. Soon TV reporter Don Fernando climbs into the “real world” for a mid-story tryst with Lori Peacock, and when Lynn shares a quiet moment on the bearskin rug with hubby Billy Dee, the TV crew gets an eyeful through the picture tube. Lynn also shares a scene with Fernando that is worth mentioning, as along with Randall the two lead actresses’ natural charm and allure are what carry the feature. Production values are good if unspectacular, and the supporting players are adequate.
