The team that gave us Married With Hormones this past summer scores another hit with Penetrator, a straight-faced version of Terminator. The story of the original is followed closely with a naked Woody Long appearing and grabbing the clothes off a punk. Woody does a perfect Schwarzenegger imitation in his search for Farrah Gonnors (Angela Summers) who will bear a child destined to lead a revolt against machines. But instead of wanting to kill her, the cyborg wants to impregnate her, so she will give birth to a half-human-half-machine. Sort of like and IRS agent.
Woody, who normally has all the emotions of a robot, is perfectly cast here, but it’s a stretch to accept Ron Jeremy as the good guys who’s sent to stop Mr. Machine. Ron plays Rhesus, and appropriate name, since he is as always, covered with fur, I mean hair. All of the action scenes save one are very well done. I particularly liked both of the Penetrator bouts—one with Trixie Tyler and the other with Angela Summers. But one half-A off for a poorly videotaped orgy scene in which you can’t tell who’s who or who’s what. That aside, this is a well-executed adult version of a mainstream movie, and I’m anxious to see what these guys tackle next.
