Drawing some of its obvious references and inspiration from Shakes the Clown, Scotty Fox's American Built is a droll, dry humored, nifty little bit of adult videomaking.

Randy Spears and Jonathan Morgan, who teamed up in Fox's The Collectible, are reunited as a pair of advertising execs who are working up an ad campaign for the Arrow 1000, a sleek new automobile. These guys have the sensitivity of trash compactors and have worked on past projects where they've exploited animals and hemorrhoid suffers. They're perfect for the new assignment, but their wives (Tiffany Mynx and Nikki Dial — who both look great in bikinis) feel a little neglected by all their work at the office.

Morgan hits on the brain storm of using a clown in the new ad campaign, and "Bobo" (Ted Wilson) shows up whereupon he fucks the piss out of the wives who were looking for some action to begin with. Or like cutie pie Dial says, "When I said I'd fuck the first clown that walked in the door, I didn't realize...."

Wilson is perfect in this role. He's world-weary and sarcastic, and the scene in which he screws Wilde in her bath tub is hysterical because he does it in clown face and so matter-of-factly. Philandering is as natural for him as lighting up an exploding cigar.

When Morgan puts in a call for two American-built models, predictably he's sent two bimbos, not cars, and the husbands wind up getting some action to complete the circle of French farce.

Dial acquits herself very well in her debut video, thanks in part to a goofy and entertaining script from Cash Markman. Tiffany Mynx continues to shine and adds lustre to everything she's in. Newcomers Alyssa Jarreau and Christina have pretty good exterior packaging. A great picture of Wilde on the boxcover makes this a genuine American built winner that won't give you sticker shock.
