There always seems to be that inevitable moment in a relationship between a man and a woman when one of the two parties, or perhaps both, wonder what it would be like to junk decorum just one time and give in to passion. Just Friends explores that issue.
Taylor Wane and Jerry Butler are classmates in an erotic fiction class (just what they both need!). They are also friends, and both are romantics. Neither of them really has a strong clue about what they want to do with their lives. Taylor is engaged to Steve Drake. She's a poet and romantic but very insecure, so she clings to Drake because he gives her some form of security. Jerry is loutish on the outside but is a sensitive soul who seems to be a sucker for the wrong girl.
He's having problems with his girlfriend Rita (Alexandria Quinn), who is obviously completely wrong for him. Butler keeps pouring his heart out to Taylor and thus sets the mechanism that will trigger the do-it-or- not-do-it proposition. Butler wants one night of passion with her, and Taylor's afraid that by giving in, she will lose his friendship. Even after she marries Drake, Butler is relentless and applies the full court press ... which makes you wonder whether his feelings about Quinn have any validity at all.
Just Friends is a very low key video that tells an interesting story, hits the human nature nail right on the head (like when Taylor gets jealous when she learns that Butler's going to marry Quinn), and brings some poignantly tender lovemaking to the screen. Check out the Taylor Wane/Steve Drake pairing which is sensitively lensed. The music is downplayed so we can hear all those wonderful gurgling lovemaking sounds that are natural and dear. Even when Quinn and Butler get together it's a tentative and tender scene — one that you wouldn't normally expect Quinn to carry off as well as she does here.
Just Friends maybe a little more saccharine than what you're normally used to dealing with in adult video, but it's well worth your time and effort.
