How do you solve the problem when a key member of your cast isn't available for a major shoot, as in the case of Mike Horner? You do some quick thinking and cast him as missing which is what happens in the case of Sex Trek II: The Search for Sperm. Thank goodness for the mainstream film. It had already gone where no man had gone before and bequeathed the perfect title, and got somebody's quasar out of deep interstellar shit.
No, Horner's picture is not plastered on a milk carton, but through some clever finagling of video flashbacks and voiceovers, the "search" for him turns in some moments of brilliantly hip hilarity. The one-track minded (sex, of course) crew of the Starship Plunderer headed by Capt. Quirk (Randy Spears) goes off in search of Mr. Sperm's/Horner's genitals. You'll also note that Spears is a little more restrained from doing gross impersonations of William Shatner this voyage, and that the ship has a couple of new female crew members. Mona Lisa and Miyagi who provide some wonderful sexual preoccupation.
Danielle Rogers, the queen of the planet Dewomb (sounds like a Beverly Hills First amendment attorney) has rendered Mr. Sperm's body the consistency of floor wax during one of those Sci-have plot contrivances: The time warp. Coincidentally, the inhabitants of the planet Dewomb - 7 million sex-starved women, although we only see two of them - have observed Horner perform in the first Sex Trek episode and covet his balls for orgasmic purposes. Naturally, it's going to be up to Spears to sacrifice his body to Rogers for their inevitable hot pairing to retrieve the lost genitals.
Is this feature both funny and raunchy? Does Joey Silvera go around ranting his lines like George C. Scott in Exorcist III? When discussing Horner's sexual prowess, Spears says, "he's only half horny - his mother was a prostitute from Los Angeles." And Silvera comments on serving crew member J.B. tweaking Shari's nipples - "He looks familiar, Jim. Didn't I pronounce him dead once?" Yeah, but in an adult Sci-Fi feature you can weasel out of any situation (like a missing crew member) as long as you keep the laughs...and the cum...coming.
