Just how do an egocentric director (West) and a less-than-leading lady (Sterling) topple the reigning queen of daytime TV? With the head writer (Adams) in their pocket, the task is relatively simple, as long as the scheming threesome don't dwadle too long with the bevy of aspiring starlets that line up at the casting couch.
Rife with inside jokes (including one about ol' AVN), Lather is good, clean fun, and the ingredients are all natural. It may not win any awards for originality, but Lather's goofy humor keeps the pace from lagging too much, though Alexis DeVell's acting leaves a lot to be desired. Best bits: Miyagi's and Adams' office tryst, and the live "on the air" threesome between Sterling, DeVell and Steve Drake ... who plays a comatose patient who suddenly revives with the proper stimulation. So prepare to be stimulated ...
