Hawaii Vice can boast one of the year’s best marketing campaigns, box covers and the sensual, loving couple of Francois Papillon and the blonde, busty Kascha. It can also boast one of the most incompetent directing jobs for a major feature of this or any year.

I must put full blame on director Pera for not reshooting the badly flubbed lines, for not inspiring better than tired acting performances, for capturing poor sound during a couple of the outdoor scenes and for not using any creativity while shooting this story. Some of the dialogue is so badly executed that it becomes funny.

Part 1 of Hawaii Vice has Francois and Kascha as agents trying to track down a drug deal in Hawaii. Since this is the is the first of a series, maybe tighter editing of Pera’s flubbed job would have you wanting more of the story. Yes, there is nice footage of the islands and yes, most of the sex is worth watching (particularly Bionca and Peter North and Francois on the beach), but clearly, the director has no idea how to direct a full-feathered sexual story.
