Underground director Paul Morrissey (of Andy Warhol fame) once said that Hollywood ruined the movies by getting into necessary distractions like theme and plot. Personalities alone fuel the cinema, Morrissey asserted.

Than can certainly be true of erotic cinema, and Heavenly proves the point handsomely. Nobody's going to confuse this video with art, but Heavenly has a star. The videomakers know it. They let him cut loose. They lavish the camera on his every work and movement.

Jon Vincent is terrific. He's at the center of a group of guys who head up to the mountains for a ski vacation. When Vincent hurts his legs and finds himself confined to a cabin, the others (nominally straight) drop by to visit one by one, and they all end up either bent over on their knees, paying homage to Vincent's incredible virility-keep in mind this guy has a cast on his leg!

Vincent in dynamite: the physique, the face, the scar on the upper lip, the smoldering eyes. He also has a deep compelling voice and a very nasty vocabulary, and he uses both to the hilt. The seduction scenes are absolutely convincing, perfectly timed. Jon Vincent is the Real Thing, and the makers of Heavenly have shown uncommon good sense in simply stepping back and capturing him at his most uninhibited and intense. Excellent box cover.
