The nature of satire is such that the closer it hits the mark, the fewer in the average audience will appreciate the humor, "inside" as it is. Viewers will slip comfortably into this comedy because it tickles the abdomen instead of skewering the jugular.

In the timeworn tradition of innumerable porn vehicles, Southern Comfort introduces a starlet wanna-be (Lana Sands) and puts her through the paces of acquiring an industry job. With a southern drawl and a simile for every situation, Peter North acquits himself surprisingly well as model agent Jim South, blasting Lana's face on the casting couch and flooding Isis Nile.

Terry Thomas goes over the top and under the sheets with his interpretation of Director "T.P." in a sweaty three-way with Lana and Lacy Rose; but his constant interruptions during the toe-suckin', anal-fingerin' bathtub bash with Lacy and Celeste brings down the heat. Worth a look, but you may have to strain hard for dialogue.
