Two Women very sensitively and effectively examines the plight of the average American woman. Why is she practically obsessed with working out, looking good, wearing exotic lingerie, but then unimaginative and afraid to explore in bed? Why indeed? There are many questions raised in this compelling sexual saga, some answered and others left to dangle on the periphery of your libido like an unhad orgasm. Director deRenzy's under-the-microscope look at feminine mystique is clearly one of the best adult videos produced this year.

Ashlyn Gere and Victoria Paris play two sisters who are as different erotically as nymphomaniac and nun. Why is Gere encouraging Paris to make startling discoveries about her husband's (Randy Spears) secret life with seemingly no guilt? Why is Paris so repressed? The orgasmic odyssey brings forth stunning sensual images. There are seven full-blown hardcore scenes, ranging from Dominique and Spears, and later an almost shy Dominique with the manipulating Gere, to a pair of orgies (hearty participants include Tracy Winn, Barbie, Bionca, Tom Byron, Don Fernando, Jonathan Morgan and others) and a few anals (one courtesy of Byron and Gere). A nude-but-trenchcoat-clad Gere entices Spears on a memorable chase through the viewing booths and corridors of a porn palace, where she flashes everyone in sight and ends up in a naughty mens' room encounter.

The performances rendered here, sexual and otherwise, are impressive, particularly of Gere, Spears and Paris, who displays a touching confused vulnerability. The story is tightly structured, always mysterious and the script well-written. When Paris questions the dark side of husband Spears, Gere shrugs and says, "There's somebody different in all of us. Sometimes it comes out and sometimes it doesn't."
