Spell it Jim HollidAAAA.
While a fair chunk of credit here goes to director Bionca, and definitely to editor Eric Edwards; scripter/assistant director, and eternal frat boy Holliday's conception and writing of a feature has become a brand-name recognition factor for retailers and fans to rely on for quality XXX. There most definitely is not a formula — thank God — but there are unmistakable Holliday elements that make for winning porn.
First and foremost, there is an air of camaraderie on the set (an element for which Bionca, and other actresses-turned-directors who have worked with Jim like Sharon Kane, also deserve credit), which results in a genuine sexual enjoyment and heat that the viewer can feel. Jim's cardinal rule — "never forget it's a sex film" — is never forgotten. There's also the trademark Holliday mix of erudition and wackiness — when it comes to pop-cultural references, delivered with an engaging mix of zingy laughs and dead-on seriousness, Holliday is the Dennis Miller of porn — and talk-show ratings notwithstanding, that's a high compliment in my book. Who else but Holliday would have a hospital P.A. announcement, "Dr. Richard tumble, you have a long-distance phone call from Stafford, Indiana"? And then appear onscreen as Dr. Prentiss Kimble? And then have Debi Diamond do a solo/phone sex scene with Dr. Kimble that ranks with the best solo masturbation-with-sex-toys scenes ever committed to videotape?
But you don't have to be a Trivial Pursuit champ to be able to munch every delicious tidbit in a Holliday script (although it helps — a Bob Random Film Festival?!?!? 1 love it!!!). Just plain folks laugh out loud, and get turned on, too, and the technical aspects, especially the pacing and the shooting of the sex, are impeccable.
Return commences with four superbly-edited minutes of flashbacks to the original Cheerleader Nurses, setting the stage at the Burton Allen Institute of...aw, hell, just rent CN again, anyway...which lead into a stunning pre-credit sex scene with Alex Jordan and Justin Case, featuring lots of intense anal probing and vigorous, athletic power-fucking. Pause for reminders of the central plot point — that someone has absconded with the sports card collection of clinic director Dr. Elvis T. Melble (the excellent Joey Silvera) — and more laughs, with Debi Diamond getting off the best line I've heard this year: "Am I a stripper or a stewardess today?"
More superb sex follows. The incredibly bouncy Lacy Rose strips for mystery patient Kilroy (Randy Spears) — a mystery because he has medical insurance — and plunges a silver bullet in her willing butt as Randy rams her pussy to a blood-red climactic flush. Tiffany Mynx and fellow conspirator/patient Jon Dough then take a turn, in a lushly sensual scene. Tiffany's natural appeal is on full display here. As Dough caresses her and licks her, the nipples crinkle, the clit erects, the pussy juices. Fierce fucking results in a face-to-pussy dousing. It must be mentioned that this scene is underscored by one of the best pieces of porn music I've ever heard — and Double Vision's music is fine throughout — their best work since Mask.
There's more fine sex, including a dynamite all-girl finale, but I want to leave you wanting more, because I guarantee enjoyment. Maybe the mystical dialogue loses it in the far turn, and the story elements do a 360° tumble "out there where the buses don't run", but this is still a fine sequel to a fine video, with more to come.
