I think we're all familiar with the old adage, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, write about it." Such is the case of Angela Wells (Nina Hartley), who's written Love Secrets, a book that's so sexy, people start making it with each other as soon as they buy it -- or so Nina imagines. But Nina herself isn't so good at getting laid -- though she spends a fair amount of time pleasuring herself -- until a genie (Chi Chi) grants her the power of unlimited sex appeal as long as she wears a certain ring. Best Friend Trixie Tyler is Nina's first conquest, in a red-hot girl/girl coupling on a fur rug. Nina then introduces Trixie to Jessie Eastern, and while they're having a bit of horizontal fun, seduces the scholarly Tim Lake ... without her ring.
Nina has obviously played it safe in her directorial debut, choosing mostly established stars that she knows she can get a good performance out of. Still, from the opening orgy to the witty conversation between her and Chi Chi, to the steamy encounter with Lake, Nina's professionalism and sex appeal is unquestionable. Not everything in this tape quite clicks, but there's enough here of the high temperature variety to make it a sure winner in stores.
