If you find yourself done in the saturated bombing of nude Wet T-shirt contests and other forms of public exposure, Party in Progress: Cancun offers a Disney-ish take of girls, bikinis and nightlife.
Staged like a giggling, G-rated version of Where The Boys Are, this slickly produced tape does the Cancun Chamber of Commerce proud as it takes the viewer on a guided tour of the "action" spots in Cancun and interviews various party dramatis personae – all of which sets the table for a bikini contest staged at Planet Hollywood. That Bruce Willis doesn't make an appearance to offer yet another in a string of bad blues renditions is surprising, but is in keeping with the modest restraints this video show exercises. There's some semi-tantalizing footage of girls in bikinis doing poolside calendar poses for the viewing audience and footage of a guy contest where the object apparently is to show that beer-drinking he-men can still have rippled abdominal muscles. Equal opportunity viewership is apparently the name of the game here.
Stock with the knowledge that this is a smart-looking and thoroughly unobjectionable show on all levels.
